Dodge Tests the 2015 Challenger SRT ‘Hellcat’

July 3rd, 2013 by

The Dodge Challenger here at Alma Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram provides plenty of thrills. When you choose the specialized SRT edition, that experience is only enhanced. To ensure drivers get the most out of the muscle car, Dodge is planning on big things come 2015, and after reading the details, we’d giddy at the prospect of seeing the final product.

Along with SRT, Dodge is developing a Challenger that can churn out 640 horsepower on a supercharged HEMI V-8 engine, and they’re calling the test model ‘Hellcat.’ It certainly sounds like the vehicle will live up to that reputation, as the 600-plus ponies is near the Viper supercar and its V-10 engine.

To boast such heavy-duty power numbers, you can expect to see a few changes to the vehicle. We’d bet on a newer suspension and lighter frame that will keep the speed and thrills high at all times. One noticeable new feature on the Challenger SRT Hellcat is the air intakes. They are lower, and that will give the vehicle the opportunity to bring more air in to cool down that big HEMI under the hood.

Besides that, we’d expect the features we know and love on the Challenger, and SRT upgrades, to remain the same. Of course, there’s always the chance of new and innovative technology, and if more news about the exciting model comes about, you can read about it on our blog.

In the meantime, feel free to check out all our new Dodge vehicles in our Alma, MI showroom today. Our team is happy to answer any questions you might have and can set up test drives at your convenience.
