Chrysler Boosting Production on Key Models

March 17th, 2014 by

Although the first three months of any given year usually indicate a downswing in sales, such has not happened to the
Chrysler Group. As a matter of fact, the ongoing sales upswing has continued, with models such as the RAM 1500 and the Jeep Cherokee leading the way.

In fact, in the case of the latter, it would seem the model is so popular it’s requiring a bump in production capabilities.

The Toledo Assembly Facility, which makes the Cherokee and the Wrangler, have been churning out around 1,800 models a day for quite some time. Understandably, the staff is a bit worn down from all the extra legwork required to keep the Cherokee’s numbers up to demand, so the brand has decided to add on some part-time help.

To wit, the Toledo factory will be adding on 1,000 part-time workers that will augment the team already there, and add on an additional 170 units of production a day.

However, the Cherokee and Wrangler aren’t the only two models getting their production numbers amped. The 2015 Chrysler 200, which began production last week, also saw its factory personal added to in the face of what the automaker believes will be massive demand.
